You might know Lush from the soap. This originally British company has been engaged for years now in a battle regarding the use of the mark Lush by Amazon.co.uk. Amazon uses the name Lush while it does not sell Lush products but lookalikes. That doesn’t sound very respectful.
That was also the opinion of the the English High Court which ruled this week that Amazon should stop the use. Amazon announced to appeal this decision. For Lush time for draconian measures. They filed the name Christopher North as a trademark in the UK. Christopher North is the CEO of Amazon.co.uk. Lush did this just to “make a point about how upsetting it is to have something personal to you, used by someone else”. The trademark will be used on a shampoo with the slogan “rich, thick and full of it”. The product is especially recommended for those with a “recent history of dry dull skin” and promises to flow “straight to your fulfilment centre with its super saver delivery”.
