Another hangover

If you just recovered from your New Year’s Eve hangover, here is another hangover for you.

The sequel to the movie The Hangover, conveniently named The Hangover II, is, again, the centre of an IP law suit.

First, there was the tattoo on one of the actor’s faces, which was identical to that of Mike Tyson’s tattoo. The original creator of the tattoo went crazy. Now movie studio Warner Bros. is being sued by Louis Vuitton.

In an ‘airport scene’ one of the actor’s says: “Watch out! That is a Louis Vuitton”. The actual bag in the scene is, allegedly, a fake, made by a Chinese-American company known to produce fake luxury brand products.

Vuitton is annoyed by the fact that Warner Bros. was aware of the fact that the bag was fake, but did not want to change the scene, before it was released on dvd. Now the movie studio is being sued for damages, including the claim to destroy all promotion materials, as well as paying a percentage of the movie’s profits.

A few bridges to far if you ask us.
