Audi or Citroen?

The world of car trademarks is easy. You have a lot of distinctive trademarks, but every brand is quite different from the other. But when car manufacturers are starting to use other car manufacturer’s brands, things are getting confusing.

There this ad. For the new Audi A3 Sportback. But when it starts, the car is not immediately recognizable. However, there are these ‘double brackets’ that pop in all the time, that resemble the Citroen logo very much. It is most likely by accident; Audi does not need Citroen to sell it’s cars (nor the other way around). But still… we were confused. And we are trademark attorneys. Very good trademark attorneys. Well, we think so.
