The classic recipe might not stay classic at all. At least, if it is up to the estate of Caesar Cardini, the man who – allegedly – invented the salad.
No, apparently it was not Julius Caesar who was the man behind this delicious meal.
Back to the Cardini family. As they claim to be the inventors of the salad, they – of course – want to keep the recipe pure and the quality of caesar salads high. They have therefore issued a press statement, saying all caesar salads should be taken from all restaurant menus. Yes. Really.
The Cardini’s have given restaurant till the end of this month. After that, no more caesar salads, unless specifically authorized.
Is this an IP nightmare waiting to happen? Or just a cunning April Fool’s joke? MarkMatters.com say the latter.
