China is an emerging wine country where the sales of French wines is growing and growing. Of course, everyone tries to take advantage of the popularity of French wines. This has led to a remarkable story concerning Chateau Roquefort, a prominent French winehouse that is selling wines in China since five yeas.
One day the Chinese importer called the Chateau and asked them, quite mad, why their contract had not been respected. The importer had noticed that Chateau Roquefort bottles were sold in China while these bottles have not been put in the market by the importer.
After some investigation it appeared that the concerning wine was counterfeit. The label was almost perfect. The decisive fact was that the Chinese counterfeit bottle showed a prize: Medaille d’Or au concours Général Agricole de Paris. Chateau Roquefort, however, had won the silver medal!
