Last week Starbucks asked everybody to leave its weapons at home when visiting a Starbucks. A safe idea while sipping your double latte!
But not everybody thinks that way. The website Ilovegunsandcoffee.com, with a parody of the logo of Starbucks, is made by coffee lovers and weapons lovers. While the website informs everybody that they are no coffee house, they are selling coffee mugs and other merchandising with the parody logo. We wonder whether this parody will be sustained by a judge. It is anyway not the message that Starbucks want to spread.
Kind of funny in this matter is that Starbucks got a notice of this possible infringement by someone through Twitter, so Twitter also becomes a kind of crowd brand monitoring!
