Dickey Mouse – April Fools

dickeyMarkMatters.com received a lot of emails about yesterday’s post. Reactions ranged from “Really, that must me trademark and copyright infringement!” to “Cool, I am going to watch that movie.”

Although it was an April Fools joke, it is not that far-fetched.

Examples from the recent past include a book about Tanya Grotter, a young Russian wizard. Tanya Grotter has an unusual birthmark on her nose, magical powers, an upbringing by “Lopukhoid” relatives after her parents were killed by an evil sorceress Chuma-del-Tort, and goes to study at the Tibidokhs School for Behaviorally-Challenged Young Witches and Wizards. Does this ring any bell?

And not so long ago we wrote about the movie Frozen Land, which clearly was a copy of Disney’s Frozen.

Successes have many fathers. And many copycats.
