You may want to reconsider your trademarks when you learn that the Hells Angels are your counter party, even if you are MTV. Finding your parking lot full of howling motorcycles with beardy angry owners is no fun. Nevertheless, even the Hells Angels first try to arrange matters in a legal way.
The Hells Angels are taking MTV into court because the programm Fantasy Factory is using a logo (under) that is similar to their “Death Head” trademark, a skull with wings device that is registered and used for almost fifty years on jackets and tattoos (does a tattoo constitutes trademark use?).
Obviously, the logo of the Hells Angels is appealing to designers and companies. The Hells Angels already had to protect their trademark to designer Alexander McQueen, Saks Fifth Avenue and online retailer Zappos.com.
