Pinnacle Foods is suing Kraft Heinz over alleged trademark infringement of the marketing slogan for its Hungry-Man frozen meals.
According to Pinnacle Foods, a New Jersey-based processed food company, Kraft Heinz “directly, deliberately and blatantly infringed” registered trademarks for Hungry-Man frozen meals with a “confusingly similar” slogan for its recently launched Devour line of frozen meals.
“Satisfy Your Craving” is registered as trademarked for Hungry-Man. According to the lawsuit, Devour meals launched with the tag line: “Satisfy Your Cravings”.
This is much to the amazement of Pinnacle Foods: “Indeed, the only conclusion that may be drawn from these correlations in brand and product is that Kraft Heinz purposely and aggressively tried to jump start its launch of its new DEVOUR frozen product line using Pinnacle’s trademark”.
