Law is in the air

law is in the airThe musicians behind the iconic hit “Love Is In The Air” are suing an American electric pop duo and Air France, accusing them of ripping off the song.

Harry Vanda and George Young wrote John Paul Young’s ‘Love is in the Air’, a song so famous, you only have to hear the first few notes in order to recognise the song.

Vanda and Young, the copyright owners to the song, claim the song ‘Warm in the Winter’ by indie band Glass Candy features the title of the Australian favourite and similarities throughout. The band’s  song has been viewed nearly 3 million times on YouTube, after its release in 2011. But it shot to fame when it was featured on an Air France commercial.

Consequently, the French airline is also named in the court case for the use of the band’s song in a 2015 commercial campaigned, altered to say ‘France is in the Air’.

Listen to the song an decide for yourself. We don’t get what the fuzz is about.
