Zara has struck again. It is once again under over copyright infringement.
The Spanish clothing chain has put a sweater on the shelves, that looks very much like a design by Belgian designer Cathy Franken.
Many of the big fashion houses have seen similar versions of their designs pop up on the shelves of Zara. But Zara has been known to have copied work of young designers as well. This time Franken is on the short end of the stick.
During Amsterdam Fashion week, Franken presented a collection including an oversized sweater with zippers on the sleeves that you can open. Recently Franken noticed that Zara has added a similar design to its collection.
Style may be copied, but original design may not. It remains to be see whether this is an unlawful copy or not.
