Following our post earlier this week about the Russian entrepreneur that wanted to trademark the malfunctioning four rings of the Sochi Opening Ceremony, the governing body for the Olympic Games has now stated it will oppose the trademark registration in Russia, because of its similarity with the Olympic symbol. “We will give an appropriate response in due course,” according to the IOC.
Russian businessman Dmitry Medvedev had filed an application to trademark an image of four rings and one snowflake.
Don’t mess with the IOC, because they will send you a C&D.
