No kitty cat

Sanrio is a Japanese company known for its “Hello Kitty” products, products that are pink and can be found in the average girl’s room.

This company felt obliged to come with an official statement that it has nothing to do with Hello Kitty rifles, grenades, guns and other weaponry.

Say what? Well, it began with the news from CNN that a 5 year old in Pennsylvania was suspended because she had threatened classmates with a Hello Kitty bubble blower. This news lead to a counter reaction on internet  consisting of humorous Hello Kitty armoury such as below.

Sanrio says that these are no official products (really?) and that these images have been digitally manipulated without its permission. According Sanrio these products are an obvious infringement of trademark rights and copyrights and Sanrio threatens with legal actions. But against who? Obviously, these are unanimous parodies. But once again, Sanrio has nothing to do with it.
