No Love

love3In order to promote art (and maybe also love) a small city in Holland decided to make a replica of the iconic LOVE artwork. The original (left) is created by Robert Indiana.

Does this sound like a good idea? No. In order to promote art, it’s better to create a new artwork instead of a replica, but that is our opinion. Besides this, the artist never gave a consent. And that is rather painful. Especially when you know that the statue costs EUR 50.000,00!

So, the end of the story is that the LOVE artwork has already been removed due to a copyright claim of the artist. The municipality of the small city even decided to destroy this statue.
