Olympic condoms?

The Olympics are not all about sports. For some. During the Games, mobile team units are working 24/7 to stop tourists and day-trippers from being conned into buying fake Olympic merchandise in Central London.

Meanwhile, thousands of fake Olympic goods worth more than £10,000 have been seized by Westminster trading standards teams since the start of the Games.

Just one day after the Olympic Games started, the teams carried out simultaneous raids of five souvenir stores in Oxford Street, and removed more than £2,000 worth of counterfeit goods, including t-shirts, phone covers, magnets, and even Olympic branded condoms and shoes.

“Buying bogus Olympic goods is a false economy – they don’t look right, they break easily, and tourists will go away from London with a poor experience of the Games. We want to make sure that people have the best possible experience of the Games and of Westminster.”, according to Sue Jones, head of Westminster trading standards.

Hope the gold medals are real.
