Indeed. Quaker Oats, you know, the breakfast oatmeal, wants to sue Quakers for trademark infringement.
Although Quaker Oats is quite busy handling a lawsuit disputing its “100% natural” claim, and recalling Quaker Quinoa Granola Bars “due to a possible health risk”, it has still found some time to sue actual Quakers – the religious society – for infringing on the company’s trademark.
Quaker Oats objects to the business name “Quaker Oats Christmas Tree Farm” and demanded the Quakers immediately stop all use of the “Quaker Oats name” because it says using the trademark is misleading.
The attorney for Quaker Oats failed to see though, that the farm’s name was actually Quaker Oaks.
The best thing about this case? The response! “If you come in December, we’d be happy to sell you a tree. Priceless.
