Saturday: Counterfeit day (22)

US College football is football for the real fans. It’s the vestibule of the NFL: you can spot the talents of the different universities and speculate who is going to make it in the ‘big boy league’.

College football is also characterized by a healthy dose of rivalry. This rivalry usually consists of bashing the other team’s mascot. Either by stealing it or, in the case of Auburn University and the University of Alabama, “downsizing” the other team’s mascot.

The Auburn Tiger was demoted to a small kitty by Alabama Crimson Tide’s Elephant. Vice versa, the Auburn Tiger chokes a rather small baby elephant.

MarkMatters.com wonders whether or not any copyright claims (to the mascotstes) can be made. If you lose on the field, you may win in court.

Let the games begin!
