Louboutin’s red sole has enabled Louboutin to amass trademark rights around the world. The luxury brand has recently been victorious in its attempts to protect the red sole as a trademark.
This has caught the eye of a fellow footwear brand Reginald Bendolph, that also sees the value in a coloured shoe sole.
Bendolph is seeking to claim trademark protection in the US for a green shoe sole, but the remarkable thing is he is using the image Louboutin has used for its trademark registration. But instead of using a red sole, the sole was painted green.
Although this is technically allowed, it is quite remarkable. How much time does it take to come up with your own image of a sole, you might wonder?
