Sometimes we come across something weird. A trademark that resembles another trademark so much. But, nonetheless, is still out there. Why?
How about this: the Asia Money card. Isn’t this almost exactly like the famous VISA card? Or is it just us and our trademark-deformed brains? We wonder why VISA never took action. Were they too late? We want to understand!
It is not umcommon though for big brands to use a different name in a single country, because of prior rights. Apple was almost forced to use a different name for the iPad in China. Lays chips is branded Walkers in some countries. And Unilever has some variations on their ‘heart brand’ for different territories.
Priceless! Oh wait, that’s the Mastercard slogan.
