We talked about naked trademarks in an earlier post. But what better way to undress a brand, by taking of their ‘clothes’: all colors and markings.
Artist Andrew Miller created a project called ‘Brand Spirit’: every day for 100 days, he will paint one branded object white, removing all visual branding, reducing the object to its purest form.
The funny thing is, although the object are virgin-white, you cannot only see what the original object is, you can also recognize the brand. For example the Nintendo®-controller. Or the Polaroid®-camera.
While ‘undressed’, brands are so imprinted in our minds that they remain recognizable. Can you sport the brands?
